Vice-President; Core

HOME

Paul Laughlin:

I hired on with Southwestern Bell in December of 1996 in the bilingual SOC in Arlington TX, taking installation orders for Spanish speaking customer is MOKAT.  When the company decided to consolidate the bilingual SOC centers and move them to Houston, I transferred to bilingual BIC in Grand Prairie TX, where I talked to angry people all day long about phone bills...WEEEEEE.  I QUICKLY decided that BIC was NOT for me, and I transferred to Special Services T1 cable repair in Dallas TX where I remained until my wife and I bought a new home to accommodate our growing family in Seymour TX.  Once we arrived in Seymour, I began pursuing a position close to home and was  awarded the open I&R slot at 1810 Holliday where I am now.

My carrer with the Union is almost as storied.  I was elected to a steward position with Local 6201 just eight months after I hired on with the phone company, but when my call center dissolved and we moved to Grand Prairie to work in the BIC we moved into local 6215 turf and I would have to wait a few months to be a steward again.  I was again elected to be a steward and would remain one until I moved to Wichita Falls where I was asked to design and maintain the local website elected Vice-President; Core, and eventually President.

As far as my personal life I am very happily married father of five...that's right I said FIVE(5) from Seymour Texas.  Apart from my career with the phone company I am also a member of the United States Naval Reserve, currently attached to VR-59 logistics squadron.  Give me a call, let's do lunch.  I'm here to help where I can.
